Born in Canada on August 3, 1963, Holmes grew up in a modest three-bedroom home in the east end of Toronto, Ontario with his mother Shirley and father Jim.
Mike grew tired of not having his own space and took it upon himself to “renovate” his closet into a bedroom.
In 2001, he approached to HGTV and suggested them to host a show that would create awareness amongst people to build and live in secured houses.
As a result, they came out together with Holmes on Homes, which by its 4th season had gained a maximum fan following.
It came about as more of accident than the result of conscious effort.
Holmes has written two books: “Home Renovation with Canada’s Most Trusted Contractor” and “Holmes Inspection.” Thanks to his fame, Mike is acknowledged as an extraordinary craftsperson and an accomplished master builder.
Previously, the lack of affairs and girlfriends names had made people think whether he was a gay or not, but a father of three children, there is no doubt about his sexuality.
